Concept
This painting depicts a risky action where one is attempting to catch a snake with their bare hands, as though acting out of delusional obsession with something. If you try to grab the snake recklessly, it will bite you and inject venom into your body. The snake represents enmity, hostility, greed, and love. If you try to hold on to your negative emotions, you may endanger your own life as well as the lives of those around you. We should therefore learn when to let go of the snake.
